Delivering Library Treasures to Ukraine

How Austrian Universities Safely Shipped Their Donations to Drohobych

In our most recent humanitarian mission, we had the privilege of supporting a very special initiative: Archival and library materials were donated by three university campuses in Graz and three in Vienna – all destined for Ukraine.

While the university staff were highly committed to the cause, they understandably lacked experience with the complex legal and logistical framework required for such shipments. That’s where we came in: Condor managed the entire process – from collection to final delivery – including all permits, the intricate export customs clearance in Austria, and the challenging import procedures on the Ukrainian side.

Using tail lifts, pallet trucks, and a great deal of care, we collected scanners, archival boxes, and various library items, ensuring everything was safely packed for international transport. At our central warehouse in Vienna, we consolidated the materials onto pallets and prepared the shipment for smooth delivery to Drohobych.

To support the universities’ communication teams, our staff also documented the entire project with photos and videos – creating a truly comprehensive logistics and PR package that was greatly appreciated by all involved.

We are proud to have made this special humanitarian effort by Austrian universities a reality – and to have ensured everything arrived exactly where it was needed.
